We are looking for a Group Senior Expert Supply Chain Excellence with a focus on Procurement to act as the global process and system owner across Octapharma. The role focuses on designing, standardizing, and continuously improving procurement processes and systems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, SAP Ariba, Business Network), ensuring efficient, scalable, and compliant operations across all sites.

As a key interface between Procurement, the Business, and IT (SC Applications), you will drive the digitalization roadmap for procurement, including initiatives such as Ariba implementation, process harmonization, optimization and automation, as well as webshop integration. You will be part of the Supply Chain Center of Excellence (CoE) Team.

Your main tasks and responsibilities 

 

Process Ownership & Governance

  • Own and continuously improve global end-to-end procurement processes (e.g., Purchase-to-Pay, sourcing support processes)
  • Define and maintain global standards, templates, and governance frameworks across all sites
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., GxP)

 

Systems & Digitalization

  • Act as functional owner for procurement systems (SAP S/4HANA, SAP Ariba, Business Network)
  • Drive the procurement digitalization roadmap, including: SAP Ariba implementation and rollout, Business Network integration, process harmonization, optimization, and automation as well as webshop and catalog solutions
  • Identify and implement automation and efficiency improvements

 

Requirements & Demand Management

  • Collect, structure, and prioritize business requirements from global stakeholders
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications for IT/SAP teams
  • Manage demand intake and escalation processes (e.g., ticketing systems such as Cherwell)

 

Stakeholder & Interface Management

  • Act as the central interface between Procurement, Business, and IT (including SC Applications)
  • Collaborate with Procurement teams, Category Management, Key Users, and other stakeholders (e.g., Finance, Production)
  • Ensure alignment and clear communication across functions and regions

 

Projects & Implementation

  • Lead or support cross-functional projects related to procurement systems and processes
  • Ensure proper implementation of process and system requirements
  • Support global rollouts, including testing, deployment, and hypercare phases

 

Data, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Define and manage procurement KPIs and reporting structures
  • Ensure data consistency and transparency across systems and regions
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort

 

Training & Enablement

  • Develop training concepts and materials for procurement processes and systems
  • Support and enable Key Users across sites

 

Your expertise and ideal skill set 

 

  • University degree in Business, Engineering, Information Systems, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • Several years in procurement or process management, including proven SAP projects and/or procurement digitalization initiatives
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry and GxP environment is a plus
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams (Procurement, IT, Business) 
  • Strong communication and coordination skills as well as hands-on mentalty combined with strategic and process-oriented thinking
  • Fluent in English; German is a plus
  • Knowledge of design thinking, innovation methodologies, and change management expertise is an advantage

The minimum gross salary according to the collective agreement (chemical industry) is EUR 4,270.14 based on 38 hours per week (full-time). As we strive to offer a salary that reflects your individual profile and qualifications, there is a willingness to pay above the minimum salary.
