Your main tasks and responsibilities
The Global Market Development Manager IBU supports global initiatives that enhance healthcare professional education, expand disease awareness, and drive market development in the assigned therapeutic area. The role focuses on preparing and executing global customer-oriented programs and supporting local S&M organizations to increase market impact and portfolio profitability. This includes training sales forces and ensuring consistent communication with external and internal audiences.
Key accountabilities
- Develop and deliver global educational programs and materials (live and digital).
- Support planning and execution of international scientific initiatives (e.g. advisory boards, expert meetings).
- Coordinate adaptation of global materials for affiliates, ensuring scientific accuracy and brand alignment.
- Oversee medical content development for global education and customer engagement, ensuring consistency and compliance.
- Monitor effectiveness of global programs and share best practices with affiliates.

- Market Development & Strategic Alignment
- Support follow-up programs aligned with global strategy.
- Contribute to product-related clinical initiatives and global activation toolkits.
- Integrate affiliate insights into global strategy and tactical planning.
- Stakeholder & Affiliate Collaboration
- Build relationships with medical experts and key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with affiliates to identify market needs and optimize activities through insights and competitive monitoring.
- Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, Marketing, Business, or related field.
- Experience & competencies
- 1–3 years’ experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare industry.
- Scientific literacy required; advanced scientific degree and training in marketing, medical education, or project management are assets.
- Experience in medical education, scientific communication, marketing support, customer engagement, or international/matrix environments preferred.
- Strong attention to scientific accuracy, proactive and well-organized, able to manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent communicator able to translate complex science into clear messages; proficient in digital communication tools.
- Strong team player with experience in international and cross-cultural environments.
- Comfortable collaborating with multiple nationalities.
- Able to independently execute customer-related projects.
- Willingness to travel (~25%).
- Efficient, with excellent time-management and prioritization skills.
- Business-level English required; German and additional languages are an advantage.

- The International Business Unit department (IBU) is divided into three Business Units: IBU Haematology, IBU Critical Care and IBU Immunotherapy plus an IBU Project Management team
- The overall responsibility of the IBU department is to ensure long-term strategic development by enabling intelligent business decisions
- We specialize in global medical marketing, strategic and business development, as well as pipeline project management
- The department consists of 25 team members.
