We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Scientist (m/f/d) to join our R&D team focused on Downstream Processing (DSP) of recombinant proteins. In this role, you will lead the development, optimization, and scale-up of purification processes for nanobody / antibody-based therapeutic proteins, contributing to the advancement of our biopharmaceutical pipeline.
Your main tasks and responsibilities
- Design and execute experiments for purification of recombinant proteins
- Analyze and interpret data to guide process development and troubleshooting
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other RnD teams
- Contribute scientifically to the project progress, lead project discussions and development
- Develop scalable and robust DSP processes
- Author technical reports, protocols, and regulatory documentation
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in protein purification
Your expertise and ideal skill set
- PhD in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Structural biology or related field
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in DSP of recombinant proteins in an industrial or academic setting, preferably with focus on nanobody and antibody expression and purification
- Background in immunology or coagulation is a plus
- Strong expertise in chromatography (affinity, ion exchange, HIC, SEC), ultrafiltration/diafiltration, and process scale-up (optional)
- Experience in DSP analytics – SDS PAGE, Western Blot, SEC-MALS (optional)
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, project management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
- Proficiency in English as well as confident usage of MS Office
